Learning Outcomes

Deep knowledge of how the body changes during pregnancy and how the massage must adapt to these changes:
· Importance of lymph drainage during pregnancy
· Understanding contraindications during pregnancy
· Ability to treat a pregnant client with confidence
· Ability to tailor made the treatment according to client's expectations and individual needs, especially with relevance to the position of the treatment as the clients body and needs change during their pregnancy
· Ability to assess and advise clients on future treatment plans and aftercare
· A deep level of understanding of the power of touch and its impact on the physical and emotional body
· A profound level of self-understanding, that increases our awareness to how our own energies affect the massage we give.
· Advance communication techniques, which allow therapists to create significant and meaningful relationships with their clients, leading to their co-operation in their healing process.
· Leave with the knowledge of how to increase the number of their clients and the ability to successfully educate them, resulting in them become a loyal client. |
Assessment

Mock practical assessments at the end of each module.
Final practical exam at the end of the course.
Written case notes for each treatment from 3 case studies, with 3 treatments for each person.
Oral examination focusing on client / therapist communication skills for the consultation in the first session.
One essay to be completed as course work, given in at the beginning of the second weekend.
